It is our moral obligation and duty as citizens of the United States, the State of Michigan, and people of faith to promote a culture of life from conception to final breath.

Life begins at conception
When do these great statements written above apply? There is no other point that one can logically say life begins, or that a "person" is created, other than the instant of conception. This is when the Creator, Almighty God, begins to knit together the body of a person that He has known from before the foundation of the world. When a person's DNA is put in place, a growth process has begun that continues well into the teen years.
Protect Senior Citizens
We need to value and respect our senior citizens and understand their wisdom and worth. This alone will help to give them the will to live.
Ideas to Promote Life
The state is unable to outlaw the evil practice of abortion due to the US Supreme Court's infamous Roe vs. Wade decision in 1973. We need to continue to pray and actively work to elect pro-life presidents and senators who will be able to change the makeup of the US Supreme Court and thereby overturn this terrible decision.
Until that happens, however, states still have the ability to put in place measures that make abortion the exception instead of the rule. As your representative, I will do everything in my power to support and pass such laws.
- We need to address the core issues that lead to abortion. These include a societal deviation from the Christian faith, making divorce available on demand, and misguided ideas of compassion. Is it compassionate to have a welfare system (public and private) that removes individual involvement in the lives of those who need help, removes expectation and accountability associated with assistance, and often times gives the role of provider to the government? These issues have led to the break up of the family and increased poverty, which are circumstances that increase the desire for abortion.
- Our churches and communities need to continue to help mothers dealing with unwanted pregnancies so that they choose life and have support once the children are born.
- The adoption process needs to be easier and less expensive so more people can afford to adopt.
- We need to require the mother to view a live 3D ultrasound picture of her baby prior to receiving an abortion. By revealing to women the person growing inside of them, we can move past the sterile arguments about when life and personhood begin and focus on what truly matters: the baby growing inside the woman and the fact that he or she deserves the opportunity to be born.
- We need to require that mothers be provided information about alternatives to abortion by a neutral third party not employed or located where the abortion would be performed.
- We need to fight to keep existing laws that outlaw assisted suicide.
